About

Writing about myself is as difficult as talking about myself…I am a writer trapped by life and a perfectionist who has had to compromise. Although I’m not as naive a dreamer as I used to be, embers of hope still warm my spirit. As I age, I remain ever curious and open-minded; however, I definitely have strong opinions about certain issues. The world is a big place and I have explored so little of it, but the Internet and other news media inform me that violence, injustice, inequality, corruption, and starvation continue to exist. If those guilty of the first four would STOP, then maybe the latter could be eliminated.  Sighhh, goes my heart.

    Dear Cyrenette,

My name is Livia Nelson, and I’m an intern at Figment. Figment is a recently-launched online community and self-publishing platform for young writers; it’s also a place for readers, authors, and fans of Young Adult fiction to gather in one place and interact and share their work with one another. Aside from our discussion forums, we also feature interviews with authors, writing contests, and publish frequently on our blog, http://blog.figment.com/.

One of the regular features on our blog is called Blogs to Stalk, a column which profiles other blogs around the internet that focus on writing, YA fiction, or, on a very general level, “the creative process.” This column is very important to us, as it allows us to build a larger community online with other writers and readers, as well as providing Figment users with content outside of the site that we feel the community would be interested in, or benefit from. (You can find some of the back columns at http://blog.figment.com/?s=blogs+to+stalk.)

I’m writing to express interest in featuring Writer’s Block Busters in an upcoming Blogs to Stalk column! The blog is lovely, and writing ideas are super original and interesting (I run my own creative writing blog, yeahwriters.tumblr.com, and I am very impressed!). And we think WBB would be a great fit for the Figment readership.

Please let me know if you have any questions; we’re thrilled about the chance to profile Writer’s Block Busters on Figment!

    All the best,
    Livia Nelson

    Are you still critiquing works?

  9. There’s an award for you on my blog – http://www.mandyevebarnett.com Have fun!

    • Cyranette says:

Thank you so much, atrager, but if I read your post correctly, the Liebster Blog Award is for those with less than 200 readers. Since I’m proud to have nearly 300 followers, I would rather not accept this nomination. Have a great summer writing! 🙂
