Monday Musings #107

The purpose of this blog is to help writers with their work, to be museful or perhaps instrumental in unclogging thoughts. To this end, I am providing a daily question, beginning sentence, beginning paragraph, prompt, and word-of-the-day to stimulate your “little gray cells.”

Question: Who would you like to have living in your neighborhood or apartment building?

Sentence: Although a simple life had been my goal, I found myself miserably rich.

Paragraph: Tobias L. Franken’s mother taught him three things before she died: responsibility, honesty, and self-reliance. However, inadvertently, she also showed him how to be diligent, strong, and forgiving. All of which were attributes essential for him to survive in a world of growing godlessness.

Prompt: Name something different that you have focused on lately.

Word of the Day: discussant n. a person taking part in an organized discussion (WEBSTER’S NEW WORLD COLLEGE DICTIONARY, 3rd ed., 1996)

If your work needs a title, tweaking, or critiquing, please do not hesitate to ask. Cyranette is here for you.

About Cyranette

I have been writing since I was 11 and am now a grandmother of 9. Aside from my family, I love writing, reading, movies, gardening, genealogy, and travel. I met my soulmate online and we've been married 19 years. I am a survivor of rape, abuse, and cancer. I believe in love, kindness, and common sense. I was born/raised in Indiana and have lived in Massachusetts, Texas, and California. I have visited: most of the United States, British Columbia, Germany, Austria, and Costa Rica. My husband and I would like to visit England, Europe, and New Zealand and to take a train ride along the Canadian/American border. I have written essays, articles, short stories, a romance novel, a self-help book, and several children's books.

Fabulous, as always! I particularly love the question. One of the biggest concerns I have when moving somewhere new is what kind of neighbours you might end up with! Also, I’m reading ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ right now… that seems to be important in this story! 😉

Thanks, Kate…Good, bad, or mysterious neighbors definitely affect your contentedness, but it seems that every neighborhood has at least one family that everyone else wishes would move away. Good to hear from you. 🙂

Lol, that’s quite funny and I think you’re quite right about that too! My suggestion is that we use these oddballs as inspiration for our writing! 😉

I do, Kate, I do! (Had to start a new reply, because I could not reply to your last reply.) 🙂
