The purpose of this blog is to help writers with their work, to be museful or perhaps instrumental in unclogging thoughts. To this end, I am providing a daily question, beginning sentence, beginning paragraph, prompt, and word-of-the-day to stimulate your “little gray cells.”
Question: What tickles your tummy?
Sentence: Doubt crept into his mind like a burrowing parasite, eating at him from the inside out.
Paragraph: She woke up and stretched, a delicious stretch full of satisfaction and refreshment. Beams of morning sunlight filled the room with a warm glow and shallow shadows. “Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day,” welled out of her before she could stop herself. Then she hopped out of bed and continued humming the melody as she danced to the kitchen. If I felt any happier, I’d probably explode!
Prompt: Name a song that you equate with feeling good.
Word of the Day: amerce – vt. 1 to punish by imposing an arbitrarily determined fine 2 to punish generally (WEBSTER’S NEW WORLD COLLEGE DICTIONARY, 3rd ed., 1996)
If your work needs a title, tweaking, or critiquing, please do not hesitate to ask. Cyranette is here for you.
