The purpose of this blog is to help writers with their work, to be museful or perhaps instrumental in unclogging thoughts. To this end, I am providing a daily question, beginning sentence, beginning paragraph, prompt, and word-of-the-day to stimulate your “little gray cells.”
Question: If you believe in fate, what do you feel it has in store for you?
Sentence: The candle’s flame bewitched him.
Paragraph: To an outsider, Tara’s hospital room looked cheerful with its flowers, balloons, drawings, stuffed animals, and music. Upon closer observation, it was a false cheerfulness. The smiles of her parents, grandparents, and other visitors did not reach their eyes. With each day that passed Tara became weaker and less responsive to attempts at joviality. The nine-year-old should have been in school or riding her unused birthday bike, not waiting for a heart transplant.
Prompt: List three favorite exotic flowers and describe their unique pollination methods.
Word of the Day: canorous – adj. melodious; musical. (RANDOM HOUSE WEBSTER’S COLLEGE DICTIONARY, 1991)
If your work needs a title, tweaking, or critiquing, please do not hesitate to ask. Cyranette is here for you.
