Monday Musings #56

The purpose of this blog is to help writers with their work, to be museful or perhaps instrumental in unclogging thoughts. To this end, I am providing a daily question, beginning sentence, beginning paragraph, prompt, and word-of-the-day to stimulate your “little gray cells.”

Question: Is your life headed in the right direction?

Sentence: Robert rapidly rode Rosey into a fiery frenzy from which there was no return.

Paragraph: With utter joy, she raced up the five wide steps to the welcoming porch and unlocked the beautiful teak door with its stained glass insert. After six years of passing by the charming bungalow on her way to work, Julia had made it hers. On the very first day she had noticed it, she had been instantly drawn to its neat lines, gabled roof, circular window above the wide porch, and its white trimmings.  She loved the dark brick that rose halfway up to meet the olive green planks of the rest of the house. From that day on, she had begun to save for a down payment, despite the lack of a For Sale sign on the small, well-kept lawn.

Prompt: List two people whose names do not fit their faces.

Word of the Day: jactation n. an abnormally restless tossing of the body. (RANDOM HOUSE WEBSTER’S COLLEGE DICTIONARY, 1991)

If your work needs a title, tweaking, or critiquing, please do not hesitate to ask. Cyranette is here for you.
