The purpose of this blog is to help writers with their work, to be museful or perhaps instrumental in unclogging thoughts. To this end, I am providing a daily question, beginning sentence, beginning paragraph, prompt, and word-of-the-day to stimulate your “little gray cells.”
Question: What is your favorite no-no?
Sentence: The blush of sunset spread across the vast horizon, bathing the backs of mesas in deep shadows.
Paragraph: At breakfast they chatted about missing the library’s semi-annual book sale the day before. Then they ate in silence, each absently wondering if they had missed it on purpose in order to have something to talk about. Without the children they had expected their coupleness had grown stale. They worked all week, but found nothing to bring them together on the weekends. Sunday mornings were the worst.
Prompt: Name a chore you do not like to do.
Word of the Day: digamy – n. the second marriage after the death or divorce of the first spouse (RANDOM HOUSE WEBSTER’S COLLEGE DICTIONARY, 1991)
If your work needs a title, tweaking, or critiquing, please do not hesitate to ask. Cyranette is here for you.
